Speaker, Coach & Life Strategist
I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland where I was raised by my single mother. In the 9th grade while in remedial classes, was the first time I asked for amazing. I excelled in academics and sports, eventually becoming a double Ivy League MBA who worked on Wall Street and consulted for a Big 4.
During a depressive bout, I experimented with a recreational drug that caused me to become mentally ill and eventually incarcerated and homeless walking the streets of New York City in the dead of winter with the flu. During this episode, I asked for amazing multiple times.
I am now a speaker, coach, and life strategist with over 30 years of professional experience.
I’m a graduate of Brown University and have an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in Finance and Strategic Management. I’ve worked for some of the best, including IBM, Westinghouse, General Motors, JP Morgan and Accenture. Some of my most rewarding work was teaching at Drake Business School and coaching low income individuals while working at Queens Economic Development and CAMBA in Brooklyn.
In 2015, I was offered the job of Deputy Secretary of Economic Development under Governor Cuomo. I continue to use my experiences to help others in the small business and personal development space as Co-Founder of the New York StartUp! Business Plan Competition and as the Business Services Director of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative.
I’ve faced 8 adversities in my life that are often difficult to recover from starting with child molestation, physical abuse, depression, alcohol abuse, drugs, mental illness, incarceration and eventually homelessness.
